Simon from Wanaka Wastebusters came to visit.  We talked about rubbish and learnt that it is called waste. 

 There are 3 types of waste:

Compost - fruit, veges and garden waste - we can use our compost to grow new plants.

Re-cycling - plastics, paper, cardboard, glass and metal waste - this waste can be reused or sent to a factory to be made into new items.

Rubbish - other things that we cannot put in the compost or re-cycle - this type of waste ends up in the landfill.


We are now working hard in our classroom to put our paper in the black re-cycling bin and to put our fruit waste in the compost.
